The End of the Line...photo contest

Gardening Gone Wild is sponsoring their final photography contest for 2009, appropriately entitled 'End of the Line'. My photo shows the last of the color on the tip of a leafless branch, surrounded by other remaining (colorless) leaves. To me, it signifies determination and strength before letting go...a metaphor for life itself.



I chose this same photo earlier this month as my blog header, for the same symbolic reason. Hanging on...before letting go and facing a 'new' season of life.

--Today I am thankful for the seasons of life.

    Jan, I had similar thoughts when I read about this contest. But none of my photos can compare to yours--beautiful color and composition! I love watching those last few leaves on the trees as they hang on, refusing to give in to winter.

    Very nice image for the "End of the Line". I had the same thought about the last leaves hanging on but couldn't quite find that perfect branch. Your's does quite nicely...

    And quite generally your fall colors are beautiful. I missed a lot of the Fall while we were on travel so some of that experience is put off until next year.
