Plants on Ice

Today is rainy and too warm for December...it's been in the 60's and 70's for the past 3 days! I'm sorry to complain but just a week or 2 ago we had snow and ice and hey, it's the day before Christmas Eve and I am a northerner (at heart)...having grown up in Pennsylvania, New York and Maine. Living in Virginia is nice and I love it here so I can't blame the region on this weird weather. It's been strange, to say the least, across the nation with extremes in precipitation and temperatures so I know we're not alone in this.

But anyway, since it's warm and raining and I'm longing for snow and ice, here are a few photos from December 9th of an ice storm we had. School was cancelled and while unsafe for drivers, it certainly was beautiful for photographers and anyone looking for some glimmering eye candy! I don't usually make my photos this large but wanted to try something new this time. Some of them overlap the sidebar so if you want to read that, go to a previous post where it will be clear for you!
