This was going to be a 'Wordless Wednesday' post, but sometimes that just won't work. At least not right now.

I have been nursing a sprained ankle for over a week now and wearing a 'boot', and/or using crutches every day now. I did manage to walk around for most of a day without support-with my ankle wrapped in an ace-bandage--while we went out on our boat this past weekend. It didn't bother me much and I enjoyed being on the boat, swimming and being out with my family. But afterwards, it was so swollen up-and it still aches from putting my full weight on it all day Sunday. Now I know I really need to wear the darned boot for support and I've been good about it ever since.I'm supposed to wear this contraption for 4 weeks. Surely I won't last that long; I cannot garden with this on my leg! I'm sure it will be off frequently so I can do small jobs in the garden. I've already missed so many changes that have been taking place because I haven't been able to get out there and walk around and/or take photos!
I don't even want to say how I sprained my ankle, but I will anyway. I was sitting in my recliner, using my laptop (what else is new?!) when my left foot got pins and needles...just numbness from staying in the same place for too long without moving. So I got up out of the chair and attempted to move my foot around, stomp on it, etc., when it just suddenly collapsed and gave out on me! I heard 3 loud 'cracking' sounds and just said to myself, 'oh no', not again! I was reminded of when I ripped my ACL in my right knee, 2 years ago. That had me laid up for ages. I won't tell you how that happened. It was almost as 'lame' as this accident. OK...I'll tell you: I was on a step-ladder, filling a birdfeeder, and lost my balance. I took a step backwards thinking it was the next step, but it was the ground instead, and my ACL snapped. I do sound rather clumsy, don't I? Funny, I haven't thought of myself that way before but am suddenly starting to wonder!
I have tons of lovely garden photos from the past several weeks that need to be posted. I just don't seem to manage to upload them fast enough and then they just don't get put on my blog. At some point I'll probably do some 'mish-mash' posts like I've seen some other bloggers do.

Meanwhile, please take some time to enjoy your garden--and the gifts it brings to you!
--Today I am thankful for gifts in my garden-even when I have a sprained ankle and cannot appreciate them.
