Our Miniature Dachshunds

Harry and Ginny were named after characters in the Harry Potter book series. My daughter (the biggest HP fanatic ever) came up with the names. Ginny was originally her dog. We rescued her when her owner didn't pick her up from the kennel my daughter was working at one summer.

We got Harry to keep Ginny company. We drove all the way from Virginia to Georgia to rescue him after he'd been found wandering along a busy highway. The plan was that after our daughter finished college, she was going to take Ginny with her. But that plan didn't materialize.

Harry and Ginny became inseparable. And I couldn't bear to have either one of them leave me when my daughter moved to an apartment last year.

She has since adopted two greyhounds, right off the racing track. We often get all the dogs together. I'll post about all of them one day...
Meanwhile, this is Ginny and Harry's post.

They have their own Christmas stockings. Actually, there isn't much that they don't have (!). Talk about spoiled. Yep. That they are.

My husband calls them, collectively, 'The Weasels'. He says it half-lovingly. Sometimes he inserts a word that sounds like 'ship' right before 'weasels'. He says they are sneaky. And barky. And painful. But we all know he loves them, just like we do ;)

  He is right about one thing. They are good when they are asleep:

 So despite the craziness around here (we have a standard poodle, too...he'll be my next subject), I love these doxies. They add fun and silliness to our lives. And to be honest, I love having them snuggle in my lap while I'm typing on the computer! They keep me warm :)
