The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has a great website where you can find detailed information about the Tufted Titmouse.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post. You made me smile and I caught myself inventing dialogue.
donna
Cute funny post, and I also smiled at donna's comment. They're lucky well fed birdies to have am undeerstanding friend like you Jan.
ReplyDeleteVery dear Jan! I love those little Tufted Titmice! How they turn their head to the side . . . all the better to see with their little black eye. ;>))
ReplyDeleteThanks for a funny post. I like the last scenario the most.
ReplyDeleteI love the Tufted Titmouse and am blessed to see them regularly at my feeders.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is marvelous! And, in a computer way, kind of funny. I'm on a mac, I opened your blog and another blog at the same time. (Letting one load while I read the 'tother.)
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, I'm looking at your pics and marveling at the bird sounds... and it was the other blog! Isn't that interesting? I really loved these photos.
I wish we had pretty birds around my feeders. I mostly get the big mean ones.
I have never seen this little bird in my garden, but they are cuties. Your bird dialog was cute too.
ReplyDeleteFunny...I often wonder what they are saying too. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteTitmice are so cute. Great pictures!
ReplyDeletehaha very funny post! I can see them telling that
ReplyDeleteI always love the little birdie posts...wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! I just love Titmice and I really love your captions!
ReplyDeleteFun with titmouse...great post.
ReplyDeleteNot getting many birds lately but then again I moved the feeders 3 weeks ago.
What entertaining neighbors you have! I live the icicle umbrella over your feeder.
ReplyDeleteI love your bird photos!!Their commentary is really cute. :o) The birds in my garden fly away as soon as I open the door to sneak outside and take their pictures. I guess I'm not that sneaky! I garden in VA in western Prince William County.
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, I think you're spot on as a bird whisperer. Cute birds!
ReplyDeleteJan,
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job of capturing the Tufted Titmouse. That second feeder looks like a smorgasbord of bird deliciousness!!
Jan dear,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your words about Ethel Pochocki. Truly, she said she had so much more to do. She had poems unwritten (she and Barry Moser the famed illustrator were going to work on a book of poetry), she had gardens to tend, fruit to can, life to live, but in the end it was all too much. She suffered gracefully with nary a complaint. I'm privileged to have known her and loved her.
I love these photos of the Titmouse. They are so wonderful and I've loved it when I've hand fed them. They're included in my new bird book for children.
Who could ignore these perky little guys?
Love,

These are our second friendliest birds, after the chickadees, of course. I'll bet they have even more words for the bad weather.
ReplyDeletealoha jan,
ReplyDeletewonderful captures...they all look busy and happy to be visiting you...i also enjoyed my visit :)
Hi Jan, I love your tufted titmouse dialogue. And the photos. Did you make those corn feeders yourself?
