See this same zinnia in full bloom on my previous post Amazing Zinnias
Plan-A was to include this photo in the original, previous post. (So much for Plan-A!) Here's Plan-B!
Happy Monday!
--Today I am thankful that in blogging, blooms can actually show up before buds;-)

ReplyDeleteI love your new header what a surprise.
The Zinnia is a fun post to do you could nearly make it into a film of each stage.Lol!
So it's a two post display, no matter. Zinnias planted late give me a better show than mums, which tend to want to wait until frost to finally open. Zinnias have played prominent roles in many gardens I've visited this late summer/fall season.
ReplyDeleteJan,
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute, Jan! This is a great addition to your Zinnia post.
Love your new blog header. It truly is stunning!

It is always so amazing to look at close ups of flowers and plants. Each little detail is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love the gray background and your header. Very lovely look.
Zinnia buds are so fascinating to watch. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteEach flower opening is like a birth to me ... I love watching each one.
ReplyDeleteHave a warm snuggly autumn day. TTFN ~Marydon
happy monday jan.
ReplyDeletelovely capture of the zinnia...sometimes the pre-blossom stage is more interesting than the bloom.
hope you are doing great.
many hugs.
Beautifully crystal clear shots Jan.
ReplyDeleteI've not mentioned how much I like your header pic. Happy Monday to you as well.
Great new look Jan. The background color is a perfect accompaniment to the bloom in the header. GREAT GREAT GREAT! Love the new sidebar pics as well.
ReplyDeleteZinnas and cosmos are a fun annual to have every year....oh so pretty.
ReplyDeleteJan,love your new blog look and header !!
Your pictures are better than I remember, they're great !
Hi Janet~~ Wow! I love your new look. Gorgeous colors and content. The zinnia looks so humble in its infant stages.
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, I love the new look, the header pic is beautiful. I have just bought Zinnia seeds last week to grow for next year, I have never grown them before and now seeing your post I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI remember an old Vogue pattern, for a dove grey suit, with a soft pink blouse. Made it in navy. But decades later I remember that colour combination, and wish I had stuck with it. Your new look gives a more thankful/grateful impression.
ReplyDeleteJan, gorgeous photo! And your header is wonderful!! Zinnias are just the easiet bloomers to grow and provide such colors. I planted several varieties this year and have them all sapes and sizes. Then those profusion zinnias did an outstanding job as a border and in containers this year too.
ReplyDeleteThe bud is every bit as artistic as the flower. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteI like the new look too! I'm glad that you are enjoying your zinnias! Zinnias, cosmos, petunias and mums are about all I have left blooming.
ReplyDeleteHi Jan,
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog. That header photo is gorgeous!
I love buds, too.
Great close-up. Loved the details.
ReplyDeleteThe header picture is gorgeous.
First I have to say that I LOVE the new look of your blog and the header is gorgeous! Second the pics are amazing! I wish I had the talent to take such beautiful shots. My zinnias are still going strong too in October. They actually look better now then they did all summer with all the miserable rain we had. It's a shame we'll be losing them soon as frost is right around the corner. -Jackie
ReplyDeleteThe shots of the bud are fantastic - and so is your new header!
ReplyDeleteI have always liked the "eyeliner" zinnia buds have, and your pictures really show this off.
ReplyDeleteJan, the header photo is simply amazing. I can't stop looking at it. I rather like Plan-B.
ReplyDeleteI like plan B. The beautiful bud really made me stop in my tracks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful banner, too. It's always such a joy to visit you.
Jan....these are INCREDIBLE!!
ReplyDeleteHello Jan;
ReplyDeleteI pulled the last of our zinnias a week ago when the frost did them in. I miss them already as they are such an easy to grow flower and they hold up so well as cuts.
I remember my mother drying them in a mix of Boraxo and corn meal and then arranging them to display for the balance of the winter. This was easy to do and gave a gentle reminder to flowers of summer.

I nearly dropped my jaw to the floor when I opened your blog---utterly breathtakingly gorgeous. I mean it. The grey and pink hint of grey in the border is a stroke of genius. You rock.
ReplyDeleteand today's photos are something else.
Fantastic new header and as for today's zinnia pix ... mind-blowing. Will be checking in even more often to see what you are going to post next! :-)
