Today I am thankful for...the opportunity to make choices.
(Sulpher Butterfly on Salvia) photo by Jan Doble
The decisions and choices we make,
both the good and the bad,
contribute to our spiritual, emotional and intellectual growth.
both the good and the bad,
contribute to our spiritual, emotional and intellectual growth.
If everything was decided for us,
with no ability to ever make a mistake,
we could not evolve
into whole and healthy human beings.

ReplyDeleteIs it on purpose, that your site feed is off? I tried to add your blog to my reader, but it's not working.
hmmm...i just checked my settings; i think i fixed it. i had 'thanksfortoday' entered instead of 'thanksfor2day' so that might have messed up the feed. let me know. jan
ReplyDeleteJan, what a beautiful picture! The lighting is just right. You really have an eye for photography.
ReplyDeleteWe should all stop once in a while to think about our freedom and be thakful for it.
Hi! I found you after you posted on my blog, and I'm so glad that you did. Your photos are lovely; simply exquisite. Butterflies, birds and flowers are important for our souls, and you capture them so very well. I'm envious of the Piliated Woodpecker - never seen one, always wanted to. I've linked to your blog from mine and hope that's okay!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to still have butterflies to enjoy! Your photos are truly beautiful. I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at them and reading your posts this morning.
ReplyDeleteIt must've been heartbreaking losing all those posts.
We have sunshine here this morning, but very chilly temps (24ºF).
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! I thought I would drop in and say hi!!!(-: Have a happy Wednesday!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, thanks for visiting my craft blog. I thought I'd check out yours and have really enjoyed looking at your gorgeous pictures and the things you are thankful for! It has actually given me an idea for an activity to do with one of my English classes. WE are in the middle of a poetry unit and I think a trip outside with cameras is called for!
ReplyDeleteI'm just checking out your blog for the first time (thanks for visiting mine) - your photos are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI found your lovely blog through a comment you left at South Breeze Farm ... am saddened that you accidentally deleted all those posts on your previous blogs ... but grateful you've started over. I'm adding your blog to my reader ... and will visit as often as time permits, just because. Thank you ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Sigh ... I've tried all three:
ReplyDeletehttp://thanksfor2day.blogspot.com/
http://thanksfortoday.blogspot.com/
http://thanksfortwoday.blogspot.com/
but nothing seems to add your blog to my reader.
Hugs and blessings,
Dear Jan,

ReplyDeleteHi Jan, thanks for coming by my site. I answered your question about the brick sidewalk under your comment. I hope this helps. I love your bit of poetry above. It is so true.~~Dee
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would stop by and visit, and I am so glad that I did. What lovely shots you have captured.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the blog delete button problem, why do they make it so big? I have almost accidently deleted everything before also. I really must pay more attention when on that page....
Jen
What lovely photos - read with horror that you'd sent your blog into ether and were starting over. Looking forward to reading your poetry and seeing accompanying photos in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteHello, Jan! Found you on Blotanical, so glad I did. Your banner photograph is exquisite (as are all your others!) I look forward to exploring your blog in the days to come.
