The native plants growing along the dunes. How lovely to see these every day as we walked to the beach from the beach house.

My husband and son throwing the football back and forth.
The colorful umbrellas, the tall grasses swaying in the breeze and the warmth of the sun. So inviting.
Enjoying a cold one.
My husband enjoying his boat on the ocean beyond the breakers. Some days were calm enough that he could drive right out in front of our beach house.
Video with sound of the wind and crashing waves.
This is one place I like to go to relax. Of course there are many other places and things that I enjoy, but this is a favorite. Especially now that it's the middle of January and I cannot garden, I am thinking of some place I'd really like to be right now.

Why yes, after googling it, I agree that it is...and it is native to NC! Guess I'll fix that in my text! Thanks ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the oceans and Great Lakes are such wonderful ecosystems and so calming to the soul. Thanks for this perspective on this cold winter night. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am a beach kind of gal, just like you. While I dearly love the ocean, my favorite beach will always be on the shores of Lake Michigan in my hometown.
