Hi Jan...Ah-h-h Spring!! What have you been feeding your squirrels?! Looks as if he's testing his strength, trying to break the branch! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteThe pics say so much! No words needed here. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Jan
ReplyDeleteWhat's popping up in the cup?
As kid I used to feed grey squirrels out of the kitchen window. They're confident little souls.
PS I loved your previous birdie post. You are so lucky to have such varied and colouful birds over there.
Rob
Ohhh, nasty little long toed varmint!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat cup holding the seedlings is sure pretty.
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel, must be having a twig salad.
Marnie
Sorry Jan ~ squirrels and chipmunks are also digging up my potted bulbs and many in my garden. You are nicer than I am ... shame on me ... I'd like to shoot mine with a stun gun instead of a camera!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel couldn't raid your bird feeders so it is left to eating sticks? :) Maybe he is just sharpening his teeth to get to your flower bulbs.
ReplyDeleteNaughty, naughty. Don't you love the sight of emerging bulbs?
ReplyDeleteI love the squirrel picture, it is too cute. My littlest gardener came in while I was looking at it and just got so excited seeing it! Are those bulbs of some sort?
ReplyDeleteToo cute!
ReplyDeleteI envy you, why doesn´t I have any squirrels in my garden? Cute little guy that one.
ReplyDeleteIs that twig an after-dinner mint?!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, but is he eating your bulbs? Maybe you can feed him with something else but your flowers =)
ReplyDeleteNot at all a nice fellow is he!? Sorry about your bulb. Lets hope he doesn't come back for seconds.
ReplyDeleteI needed that so badly and laughed out loud. I feel sorry for you. Darn little critters.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love that squirrel picture! That is sooooooooo cute!!!! Not cute that he dug out the bulb though...(-:
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel! I love the wordless posts...I mean I love posting on the wordless days. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteAhhh! The Sprouts of Spring! For a change, I love this cute little rascal, but (to that rascal,) "Hey! Stay off my Hibiscuses!"
ReplyDeleteNo words necessary to get the gist of this post, lol. Bad squirrel!
ReplyDeleteJan,
ReplyDeleteCool squirrel photo! Now we know you shop at Walmart... We made one purchase at Walmart last year a tea cup pot exactly like yours in the first photo. It did not like the winter as the saucer part just crumbled.
You do take the most amazing pictures! I think you must be much more patient than I am!
ReplyDeleteThose squirrels would be more endearing if they wouldn't dig things out of our pots and gardens!
ReplyDeleteDarn squirrels!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Oh my what a little bugger! That's hilarious!!!!
ReplyDeleteCindy
The squirrel pic is pricelss.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of bulbs are they? They look like daffs, which squirrels don't like, so you really have me wondering.
Hi Jan~~ Your little squirrel is such a cutie. The emerging green is so refreshing this time of year. I hope you're doing well, Jan. Fever is gone? How about your son?
ReplyDeleteOh bugger! I am sure glad we don't have theives like this one. He is cute though, "Who me?" should be the title of the last pic.
ReplyDeleteDid the squirel pick up a bulb from your cup and then eat it? If so, what a scoundrel!
ReplyDeleteKatarina
Hi Jan, I found a few uprooted bulbs too! Great squirrel shot..guess he needed some roughage in his diet..lol!
ReplyDeleteOMG--all of your comments made me crack up laughing!! Some of your humor is a riot;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I shop at Walmart!! The cup and saucer pot came from there as did the bulbs...which are a mix of daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths. As you can see, mainly the daffs are left, although you can barely see some thicker hyacinth bulbs on the far right.
The squirrel shot is from last year, actually...and it's in another post I titled 'X-Rated'. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean! I just couldn't find another squirrel pic at the moment (not that I'm lacking in them;-(
Those of you who don't get squirrels, consider yourself LUCKY. Enjoy them through others photos! They are cute, but really do a number in my yard. Like Joey, I've thought of stun guns, bebe guns, etc!! ha ha...I'm too much of a softie to really go through with it, though. But they are so problematic where I live that I consider it more than I'd like to admit!!
Squirrels are cute, but they can be such a menace! They haven't found me yet and I hope they don't!
ReplyDeleteFun set of photos here Jan! And yes squirrels are a major nuisance but the young ones can be fun to watch bumbling around the yard carrying on as they do.
ReplyDeleteAnn
That last photo is just priceless! And funny!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
This is the lawyer for the squirrel, who would like to inform you that all of your evidence is purely circumstantial. My client was never in the vicinity, and would never unearth a bulb. He only likes to gently sniff the bulbs as he skips along on his way to work. Besides, he's been on a diet, and is restricted to nibbling on fallen twigs only.
ReplyDeleteYou can't pin this one on us copper.
By the way, when are you planting the next tasty meal, err, we mean lovely bulb display?
Ah, very funny! The sneaky little bugger. I see you shopped at Wally World for your teacup planter, just like I did! It's cute, isn't it? The only problem with my all-in-one bird feeder is the that the starlings are scaring off the song birds! But even though the starlings are hogging it now, it has given the other birds ideas. Today I had a goldfinch there, and a house finch. So as soon as the peanut treat is gone that the starlings favor, I'll leave that spot empty till the other birds come along.
ReplyDeleteThose little squirts! And he's saying, "Curses! Foiled again!" ha. Someone such as this has bitten the blossoms off my grape hyacinths! hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteNorthern Shade, I can't stop laughing! What a riot you are;-) Thanks for the HUGE chuckle tonight!! My husband will get a kick out of your comment, too!
ReplyDeleteRobin, I'm glad your birdfeeder is drawing in new birds...except for the starling(s)...Definitely put the peanuts at another location so they will leave room for goldfinch and other birdies to come by!
ReplyDeleteShady, in the pot are daffs, tulips and hyacinths...and mostly daffs are left - with 1 or 2 hyacinths with half of the tops chomppd off;-(
Argg. Where are the predators when you need them. We hung an owl box hoping for some help with the squirrels, but so far, not takers. Hope that hawk comes back!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting spring you are having. I love that little guy enjoying the stick. what a great shot!
ReplyDeleteHappy SPring dear Garden Friend.
did you know there is no squirrel in New Zealand? In Borneo, they are a dull brown color.
ReplyDeleteAh, yeah...no words needed when it comes to squirrels!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring photos here as well :)
They are such cute little fuzzy tailed rodent's~~makes it hard to hold onto resentment. gail
ReplyDeleteIs that squirrel weight lifting? He looks like he's in good shape.
