Does This Outfit Make Me Look Fat?

It's getting chilly! I've been pigging out to keep warm and store some fat for the winter. I don't have a nice cozy bed with warm blankets, like you--so with my added weight I should stay pretty warm. Do you see how much bigger I am than those little acorns next to me? I have to eat hundreds of them to get enough nourishment to last me through these next few months!

    We have a bumper crop of acorns don't we? Which means tons of babies this Spring. I'm not looking forward to it. Love your title. I do think he/she looks ready for winter. That's going to be my excuse. Just getting ready for a cold long winter so I better put on some insulation.

    I think Roly-Poly squirrel isn't fat. I think she's pregnant and carrying another dozen little squirrels to dig in your garden. Just kidding... trying to make the little squirrel feel better! :-)

    The fat squirrels are moving pretty fast across our snow covered lawn. I don't think I could get any photos. You have a beautiful blog. I'm glad you visited me so I could find you.

    -Sue: I've tried to tell that to my squirrels (and all their friends) but they just don't seem to understand that concept.Thanks for the compliment about my photo...it was difficult to get it to fit in that box so I had to play around with the sizing for quite a while!
    -FlowerGardenGirl: Yep, with tons of oak trees come acorns, which is lucky for the squirrels around here. Yeah, 'winter insulation' is my excuse too!

    Cute photo! I have many roly-poly cuties like that running overhead, often afraid they might fall, scampering around, and cause a minor earthquake!

    Joey: Yes, I often wonder why I haven't been hit in the head yet by one of these fatties, but so far, I've never seen one fall. They have a pretty strong grip!

    Hi Zach: I've seen only a couple like this one. The rest are filling out a little...but not like this guy. He has probably stolen most of the acorns from all the others! He may be cute, but he may be a thief, too:)

    So funny, Jan! All the critters are puffing themselves up to keep out the chill, OR they had entirely too much Thanksgiving feasting. I've a photo of a particularly fat wren I must post soon - didn't think of it until I saw this fat squirrel!
