After a day in the high 60's we're expecting another snowstorm tomorrow night, so I thought I'd snip off some hellebores and float them in a bowl of water. Might as well enjoy them inside if they're just going to get covered up with the white stuff!

A fantastic mix of awesome beauties, Jan. Lovely...!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday and have a great week ahead.
I love hellebores, but when I am talking to people in a class situation, all I have to do is show a photo like this one where all of the plant's diversity can be seen side by side, and suddenly there is a room full of new converts. Happy GBBD, sorry about the snow.
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, I thought I would check in to see how you are doing! This is one of the best ways to appreciate the diversity and beauty in a group of hellebores. Yours are wonderful! I hope spring will soon find its way to you, and snowstorms will be gone until next winter!
ReplyDeleteA marvelous stew of hellebores. One of the best ways to appreciate their blooms. Happy GBBD.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to display these blooms...your snow will melt quickly and it will have nourished your plants. My snow just won't melt as it is bitterly cold here.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're getting more snow. What a great idea to snip off the Hellebore flowers and float them in water. It's a great way to see all the different ones that you have. Even though I don't have to save mine from snow, I might try this. I wonder how long they last? I've never tried using them as cut flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou really have some lovely ones Jan. That is the best way to look at hellebore's. Those droopy headed blooms are hard to look at. Yes they would have been lost in all that new snow.
ReplyDeleteJan, what a clever way to show off your lovely hellebores! P. x
