  16. Beautiful Jan. We have a couple of roses but they aren't the best thanks to the deer pruning them all of the time. But they're still hanging in there - some barely!!! I just have to enjoy everyone elses.

  22. I like the optimistic view of the thorns and will try to remember that when working with my shrub roses this summer. The word "amazing" is over used, but it's what comes to mind when seeing your photos.

  33. Hi Jan, I'm going to join you in this prompt. We have a fruit and veggie garden out back, grapes on one side of home with a 30ft waterfall garden on the other. Out front is all flowers on a slope. Now I have a place to showcase our gardens. :) Your rose is stunning!

  39. I've always loved that saying, and would never have thought that it came from honest Abe! Since we don't have any trees in the backyard yet, our feeder space is limited, that's why I bought my multipurpose feeder pole. We did decide he was a house finch, but I thinkk purple finches have been coming too. There are some that have so much more red on them, but I haven't been able to photograph them to confirm.

  42. I have just been looking back through a few of your older posts and you really do take beautiful pics. I love the colors and perspective. Great job. And such a nice blog to stop in and stay a while kind of place. Makes me want to kick up my crocs and have a glass of tea while I read.
